And didn't Aoife say that Ronnie Wood was very taken with Bobby Clancy and invited him to a gig? And didn't I read that Neil Young was very rude to Bobby?
Ronnie has a house and studio in Kildare and he invited us all to visit him. Later Bobby got a phone call inviting him to a party at Ronnie’s but he declined. Neil Young told me to fuck off when I asked him for an autograph for my daughter at the after party at Tommy Makem’s Irish Pavilion. I don’t hold it against him. That was better than any autograph.
Actually, Brian, it was the opposite. The monitor level was so loud it was disorienting. It felt like standing under Niagara Falls. You could not distinguish your own voice in the mix. It was literally painful. We did a soundcheck earlier in the day but they obviously didn’t save the settings.
I made a CD-R for myself with the track list featuring the Clancy Brothers version of a song, each followed by Dylan’s rewritten version. A great combination and education. Love this version!
Thanks for that gift this morning.
Ah, the rock n roll life! And him a Canadian, too! And did you fuck off?
Of course I did. I wasn’t exactly sober. I realized I was out of line so I made a quick retreat.

Beautiful! Love the open D.
Thanks Jesse.
I think I recall that during that MSG Dylan Fest, that when you performed, the monitors were not working and had to sing without hearing each other.
