Lovely rendering, you two! And thanks for the bonus Bunclody, too!

Robbie your version of Pretty Saro is beautiful and moving. First time I’ve heard it! The Bunclody connection is brilliant. What a line-up!!

Just a lovely song - we were listening to Dear Jean last week - do I dare say that your version of Pretty Saro is my favorite? Was also inspired to haul out our copy of Down by the Glenside by your Auntie Peg (recorded by Diane Hamilton in Carrick-on-Suir, which I don't think I knew). Also, thanks for the link to Bunclody - really nice.

Glad you liked the song and listened to Peg’s wonderful album again.

I never knew that Jean Ritchie made it to Carrick-on-Suir! I have wondered how Diane Hamilton first encountered the Clancys.

Diane met Paddy and Tom Clancy in New York in the early 1950s.. When she told them she was going to Ireland to collect songs, they suggested that she visit their mother in Carrick-on-Suir. There she met Liam and Bobby and hired them to join her on her quest. Shortly afterwards, they visited Sarah Makem in Keady. That’s when Liam and Tommy Makem first met.
